The greatest thing about a skateboard is the whole world will become your playground and where ever you choose to play you will make new friends where ever in the world you are. This makes you one of the luckiest people out there. You can ride a skateboard on the pavement, road, down stairs, up stairs, on curbs, along rails, down handrails. You can ride ditches, sculptures, flowerpots, empty swimming pools, empty sewers. There are no restrictions. You can also ride purpose built ramps, parks bowls and skateparks..Architecture of every city will come alive as your playground, The world is now and for ever your place to play!!!! No limits to the fun it is all out there right now.

Enjoy the pain

Ok so one thing you need to understand, every good skateboarder that has gone before you has already been hurt, not once, not twice but many many times. The more skilled they are the more hurt they have been. Expect purple bruises so big your Mum will shout at you, expect stitches, sprained ankles, twisted knees, torn meniscus, damaged ligaments, fractures, chipped teeth, staples, stiches, screws pins and surgery. It will not all happen at once and the recovery time allows you to visualise all the cool stuff you will do when you get strong again. Some skaters skate harder and bleed almost every session, others cruise. Its up to you but the greatest risks bring the greatest rewards. That which does not kill you will make you stronger.
